Ordinarily, stitches are knitted in the same order in every row, and the wales of the fabric run parallel and vertically along the fabric. As we know, all knitted fabrics are made using two basic stitches, knit and purl.
For those of us who knit, there is almost nothing more relaxing than watching a row of neat, organized stitches line up on your knitting needles. People who knit are skilled at juggling both these tasks and also switching yarn in order to add color to their blankets. You can also choose between circular needles and straight needles.
Sock knitting machines are antiques and they are not made any more. The stitches are much the same as the baby blanket design, but the final product is nearly twice as large. During knitting, the active stitches are secured mechanically, either from individual hooks (in knitting machines) or from a knitting needle or frame in hand-knitting.
You'll be amazed at how much faster the second, third, and fourth version of the same pattern can be. Be sure to try using other available resources, such as local craft and hobby stores.
