knit slipper patterns

Knitting needles in a variety of sizes (US 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 15 from the bottom). In this article, I will attempt to explain some of the basic knitting stitches and everything they encompass.

In the knit stitch on the left, the next (red) loop passes through the previous (white) loop from below, whereas in the purl stitch (right), the next stitch enters from above. Most Western-style knitters follow either the English style (in which the yarn is held in the right hand) or the Continental style (in which the yarn is held in the left hand). Flat knitting, on the other hand, is used, in its most basic form, to make flat, rectangular pieces of cloth.

I hope you could follow my basic knitting instructions. Having a smoother surface, metal needles tend to produce faster knitting but stitches are more likely to slide off by accident. Knitters generally ensure that the yarn for a project comes from a single dye lot.

Take your time and understand the information on this site and you will be able to knit anything you want. Most new knitters should start with some of the basic patterns listed above and work on mastering basic stitches.
