Knit One Purl Two happens to be one of the most well known knitting terms, well known by non-knitters and knitters alike. Knitting threads or yarns are used to create cloths or warm cloths.

Having a smoother surface, metal needles tend to produce faster knitting but stitches are more likely to slide off by accident. For those of us who knit, there is almost nothing more relaxing than watching a row of neat, organized stitches line up on your knitting needles. To start you can even make some simple combination of stitches.

Plied yarns may themselves be plied together, producing cabled yarns or multi-stranded yarns. These fiber types are chemically different, corresponding to proteins, carbohydrates and synthetic polymers, respectively. In securing the previous stitch in a wale, the next stitch can pass through the previous loop either from below or above.

Patterns and motifs are coarser with thicker yarns; thicker yarns produce bold visual effects, whereas thinner yarns are best for refined patterns. Some yarns are dyed to be either variegated (changing color every few stitches in a random fashion) or self-striping (changing every few rows).

Be sure to try using other available resources, such as local craft and hobby stores. The place where smart knitters gather resources and share stories.
