knit butterfly pattern

Knitting has become very popular in recent years. I have chosen the following pattern samples because they are the easiest patterns for a beginner knitter.

The darning needle is used in duplicate stitch (also known as Swiss darning), while the crochet hook is also essential for repairing dropped stitches and some specialty stitches such as tufting. Knitted garments are often more form-fitting than woven garments, since their elasticity allows them to follow the body's curvature closely; by contrast, curvature is introduced into most woven garments only with sewn darts, flares, gussets and gores, the seams of which lower the elasticity of the woven fabric still further. I then lay the knitting on a flat clean towel.

It is important to know the size of your knitting needles because their size is related to the size of your stitches and, implicitly, to the appearance of the finished work. People who are experienced in the art of knitting know the importance of using the best quality knitting yarn they can get hold of. In plying, two or more yarns are spun together, almost always in the opposite sense from which they were spun individually; for example, two Z-twist yarns are usually plied with an S-twist.

Keep looking around this site for lots of tips, patterns, resources and ideas. Once you learn the basics of knitting, you will want to continue progressing to more advanced stitches and knitting patterns.
